To Every Season Turn
When we are young and the rest of our lives loom before us like a never ending path, seasons seem to pass by like blips on the screen.
We may walk out of our front door one day and smell the scent of summer. We realize in that moment that the season is changing, but then we move on and go about our business.
But as we get older and there is a horizon showing up at the end of our path, the seasons become markers for us that most of our life is behind us rather than ahead of us.

For some of us, if not all of us that notion is a bit disconcerting. Maybe we want to keep working because this lets us forget we are no longer in our prime. Maybe we use gimmicks to keep looking young – injections or dressing the same way we did when we were in our twenties. Or, maybe we sink into depression thinking there is nothing more to live for.
Well, I’m here to tell you that wherever you are and no matter how close the horizon appears at the end of your path, your life is truly just beginning!
Everyday you have an opportunity for growth – for renewed hope and joy.

Inside of you is your soul self – the true you. And you never age!
This physical body, the vehicle we use to move about here on planet earth ages because it is flesh, blood, and bones. But your true self is as bright, shiny, and youthful as it ever was. And as it always will be!
We are spirit and as such we can continue to be in our aging bodies but also continue to learn and do new things everyday.
Make a plan for yourself, even if all that entails is writing down one thought relating to a dream you’ve always had – find a piece of paper and a pen and write it out. “Wouldn’t it be great if I ____________.” You fill in the blank.

Next on your plan could be to go for a walk. If you can, go to the ocean or go to the forest. Be with nature. Be with what moves you.
Call a friend. Call someone who means something to you. If you don’t know what you’d say to them after all this time, just say, “I just called to say hi.”
Let yourself be free.

If you thought you were too old to start something new, forget that thought! Even if you only had a few hours left before the angels came and carried you home, you can still do something new.
You can still bring wonder to a moment.
Remember this – you are on a journey. Nothing more.
At the end of the journey, you’ll go home and everyone you know and love will be waiting for you. They’ll be excited to hear all about your trip and you’ll be so excited to tell them all about it.

So this season, notice the changes around you. Stop to take it all in and then be inspired to create something new today.
Even if its just a colorful salad with some fresh veggies you picked up locally – do it today and you’ll be inspired for tomorrow.
The horizon you see in the distance is really a beautiful, amazing, glorious destination – Don’t be afraid!
When you get there, you’ll run, not walk, into the place you’ll remember instantly and happily you’ll go home.

I love you!
All my best,
Lisa
